Welcome to Four Mile Cottage
Four Mile Cottage is situated on Four Mile Point on Sechelt Inlet approximately one hour and forty-five minutes from
Vancouver, British Columbia. The trip includes a forty-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Langdale
on the Sunshine Coast and a scenic drive up the coast to Sechelt. You will receive detailed directions when you book.
A series of steps and landings that descend through moss and liquorice fern covered rocks and natural plant life to our
cottage in its quiet and very private waterfront setting. Lots of windows and deck space with one deck right at the shoreline
from which to enjoy the most fabulous view on the Sunshine Coast as well as the abundant wildlife.
Watch our resident seals cavort off the point and see the family of otters, who also frequent the area, as they cruise
by in search of dinner. There are several loons who call eerily to each other in the early morning and evening and blue
herons will often stand on our dock trying to catch one of the numerous fish that live beneath. Eagles nest nearby and
they use our big fir trees as lookouts to watch the water for a chance meal.
You are only fifteen minutes from the busy town of Sechelt but the quiet and solitude gives the impression you are much
farther away from civilization.
Four Mile Cottage has all the amenities to make your stay an unforgettable experience: full kitchen with microwave,
one bath with shower, two bedrooms, one queen size bed and one double, dining area and a large living room.
Towels and linen are supplied. There is a propane barbeque for outdoor cooking, Stereo with CD Player, TV and VCR
with a selection of movies and lots of board games.
In nearby Tillicum Bay Marina there are kayak and mountain bike rentals and there is a public boat launch a block away in
Sandy Hook. Scuba diving is fantastic right off our float or you can arrange to be picked up for a trip to see the HMCS
Chaudiere, a warship that was sunk for an artificial reef off Kunechin Point. At the cottage you will find brochures and
information suggesting things to do as well as sample menus from our local restaurants.
Due to the ruggedness of the terrain and the rocky shoreline we do not recommend Four Mile Cottage as a holiday destination
if you have toddlers or children who are unable to swim.
